At a time when industrial automation is advancing at a rapid pace, global standards play a critical role in ensuring innovation doesn’t outpace safety. That’s why we’re proud to share that our COO, Gabe Zingaretti, has joined the ISO Standards Working Group for Safety Requirements for Industrial Mobile Robots with Actively Controlled Stability.
This working group is part of a broader international effort to shape the future of safe, intelligent automation. As robots increasingly share workspaces with humans, clear, practical safety standards are essential — not only to protect workers but also to ensure industry-wide interoperability and trust.
With a background in medtech and a career built on developing automation systems that interact safely and seamlessly with people, Gabe brings a grounded perspective to the table. His focus has always been on enabling real-world deployment of automation that prioritizes both performance and safety. That experience will be vital as the group works to define how mobile robots maintain stability, adapt to dynamic environments, and respond to human presence.
As the Automate community notes, robotic safety standards are continuously evolving alongside the technologies they aim to regulate. Participating in this process allows us to stay ahead of regulatory shifts, contribute to meaningful progress, and help set a global benchmark for safe, collaborative automation.
OSARO is proud to be part of this important conversation — and even prouder that Gabe will help shape the future of safety for the next generation of industrial mobile robots.
